Shipwreck Beach, Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii
Walk from Bird of Paradise home to this
Shipwreck beach through Poipu Kai, beach resort greenbelt in 5-10 minutes. The public access road is between the Hyatt and the Poipu Bay Golf course. Most of the local surfers, boogie boarders, body surfers and windsurfers love to hang out after their working hour (usually after 3pm) or during weekend.
You can also hike from this Shipwreck Beach,
Keoneloa Bay, to Mahaulepu Beach, Kawailoa Bay and Ha'ula Beach
It is such a romantic place to be. You can climb up the cliff just before the sunrise, it takes only 5 minutes to be up there on top of the cliff. The sunrise here is spectacular.
During the whales watching season, it is also a great place to spot whales too.
Our
favorite place,
Shipwreck Beach for watching Sunrise,
swimming and watching Milky way at night |
Imagine that so many local and tourist
jump out of this Shipwreck cliff, Makawehi Point, for fun. Local
Windsurfers also surf at this Shipwreck Beach on the other
side. First, they throw their surfing equipments down
the ocean. Then they jump off the cliff and fetch their
gear.
